How Much Should It Cost to Fix or Replace Your Windows?

a two story house with new windows

There are a variety of reasons you may be interested in replacing your windows. Perhaps your electric bills are higher than they should be because your drafty windows are letting your conditioned air go right outside. For some homeowners, a major storm has left damage that must be attended to as quickly as possible. Whatever the reason for wanting to replace your windows, you don’t have an unlimited budget. As important as this purchase is, you won’t be able to do it if it costs a fortune.

Often, the cost of their window replacement project is the deciding factor when it comes time to not only whether to move ahead with the project but also who they end up choosing as their window replacement company. The good news is that it certainly does not cost a fortune to replace your home’s windows.

By far, one of the most common questions we get when we meet with customers is, “What is the price”? Unfortunately, it’s not a simple answer. The cost of your project depends on many factors, including the window style, the size of the windows, and the number of windows being installed. Don’t be disappointed, though. While we can’t give you an exact quote until we’re in your home, Homefix Custom Remodeling’s team of window replacement experts can help you understand how we determine the price of new windows so you can be better prepared.

The price of windows is determined based on the following factors:

#1 Quality of windows What is the difference between a European luxury car and a cheap subcompact car? The quality of the automobile! You’re going to pay more for an exceptional car over one that gets you from point A to point B with no frills. Windows follows the same mindset.

#2 Window style Some window styles will be more costly than others. If you’re sticking to a tight budget, it’s best to avoid anything custom-made that requires more time to produce.

#3 Materials Windows can be made from several different materials, and certain window materials are less costly compared to others. As a quick example, wood windows are often more expensive than vinyl windows.

#4 Installation company The company you choose is going to play a big factor in the price too. You certainly don’t want to go with the cheapest company possible, but that doesn’t mean only the most expensive company will do a good job. Find a company that offers high-quality work, for a price you can afford.

#5 Quantity It makes sense that the more windows you need replaced, the more it’s going to cost. If you’re looking to save money, consider replacing your windows in batches. Prioritize any windows with noticeable issues. Windows with drafts or condensation need to be replaced as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, there is no “one-price-fits-all” cost to replace windows. For further questions about booking your window replacement service, contact Homefix Custom Remodeling!
